The existing Deaconess House is to be retained and refurbished whilst three new buildings are to be constructed to the rear around a central courtyard which will include an amphitheatre feature together with hard and soft landscaped areas finished to high standards.

The new build construction will be up to five storeys high and based on a Precast Concrete Frame, Wall and Floor solution with the external envelopes clad in a mixture of Natural Stone, Rainscreen Mesh, Curtain Walling and Sheet Cladding features with Green Roof areas provided on upper roof areas.

The project will be constructed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and for which the clients’ occupier will be The University of Edinburgh.
