Hyde and Chartway Group buy land at Peters Village in Kent

Hyde, a major provider of social and private housing, and leading Kent-based developers, Chartway Group, have signed a joint venture to deliver 104 new homes at Peters Village in Kent, after acquiring the site from Trenport Investments Limited for £10 million.

Situated on the east bank of the River Medway in the Tonbridge and Malling Borough, Peters Village is a strategic residential site which will consist of some 1,000 homes across 210 acres when completed.

Chartway Construction, part of the Chartway Group, will build the new homes on behalf of Hyde and Westerhill Homes, the residential brand from Chartway Group, with construction expected to get underway early in the New Year.

The partnership between Hyde and Chartway Group builds on the success of their current joint venture at Heron Fields in Sittingbourne, Kent – a popular new development of mixed tenure homes, partially completed, which will offer over 300 homes once completed in 2019.

The site at Peters Village will see the delivery of 104 new homes offering a mixture of one and two bedroom flats and two, three and four bedroom houses.

David Gannicott, Group Business Development Director at Hyde said:

“We are thrilled to be on Peters Village and delivering some much-needed new homes in the South East. It is great to be working with Chartway Group again and contributing the new community that has already been established here.”

Tim McLoughlin Projects Director at Chartway Group said:

“We are very pleased to be working with Hyde and are honoured to be appointed as construction partners on this strategic site. We look forward to developing the scheme and continuing to deliver further high-quality homes in Kent.”

Richard Hall, MD of Trenport said:

“We are delighted to welcome Hyde and their construction partner, Chartway Group, to Peters Village. Having worked with them before I am very confident that the quality of the new homes they will deliver will only add to the growing reputation of Peters Village as a wonderful place to live as the new community in the Medway valley continues to go from strength to strength.”
